Palotás Y, Makra L: Relationship of the wheat-production to the oecological potential in the Southern Plain, Hungary

Summary: Three-year average fields of agricultural co-operatives in 25 villages of three important wheatproducing South-Plain counties are examined with factor- and path-analysis. It has been established that the main oecological factors influencing average yield are, in order of importance, as follow: the quality of the soil, the average June temperature and April rainfall. This emphasises the importance of taking all these factors into consideration, when selecting the most favourable areas from the aspect of wheat production.
